good evening hope you are well and keeping safe. For those of you that were with us last week thanks for all joining in and bringing along your selection of songs from the movies. Those of you that weren’t you missed another great night. We had a good selection of new songs, the songbook is now available over on the website if you didn’t download it last week.
We already have a few songs chosen but please send in any others you fancy playing or leading on, there must be over 200 songs to choose from in our main songbook now. Take a look through and choose a couple. One of the songs on the list already is a tribute to Len Barry who died last week, we will be covering 1, 2, 3 in his honour.
As you know November would normally be the start of practicing Christmas songs for us, unfortunately this year I don’t think we will be playing anywhere together. We are going to try and get a Christmas song video together, Mick will record a song which we will then send out to you all and would love it if you can then record yourselves playing the same song. If we can find someone who is good at editing then we will try and get all of the videos joined together, well that’s the plan. This doesn’t stop us having a socially distanced Christmas party here on zoom in December. Talking of Christmas and thinking about the next theme for Decembers open mic night should we go for a Christmas theme or a more tenuous link to Christmas. Doesn’t have to be anything to do with Christmas, we have had a few suggestions in already, transport, the moon, songs from video games to name a few. We need to make a choice this week to give everyone a chance to practice.
