Last week was another good night with a mix of songs from the songbook and a few new ones. Gary C led us through a tribute to Len Barry with a cover of his great hit 1, 2, 3. We then spun the wheel and Space Oddity came up which Mick led on and I spoilt by not being on mute.
Sadly this week Des O’Conner died which should give us a few choices to cover as a tribute. Also Ray Clemence died, although a goalkeeper for the majority of his career he did sing on a few records. I am sure somewhere on Whatsapp Mitch said he would lead us in the great “This time (We’ll get it right) a song full of hope for the England team in the 1982 world cup but unfortunately they didn’t get it right and were eliminated in the second round.
The book is now open for this weeks songlist, don’t forget we have about 200 songs in our songbook at the moment to choose from. There must be something in there you fancy doing?
We have started getting a few entries in already for Decembers open mic night, The theme is Winter/Christmas I have listed them below to give you some ideas. Get your choices in as soon as possible to give me a chance to get the songbook together.#
