As always it’s great to see our NUG members perform and on this video Pippa plays and sings Riptide… enjoy ….
Looking forward to seeing you all at The Lamplighter pub this Thursday. Kicking off around 7:00 pm ish and finishing the last song around 10:00 pm ish!
Here are the songs we’ll be starting off with …
I’m a believer
Dancing in the dark
Don’t look back in anger
You’re too good to be true
A New England
Honky Tonk woman
Crazy little thing called love
You to me are everything
In hell I’ll be in good company
If it’s your first time at The NUGS you’ll be warmly welcomed … just come along, join in as much as you can and enjoy the fun 🙂
Ian & Mick
Watch, learn then apply!
I might have to add more varnish to my Uke soon me thinks 🙂
And remember, this Thursday is open mic time at The Lamplighter, from 7:00 pm ish to 10:00 pm ish, along with a selection of songs ranging from the 60’s to present day stuff!
We’re always looking at being that little bit different; however I reckon this percussion player can stay where he is … just wondering what would happen if he played at The Nugs!
Feel free to comment below …
Hollywood star and ex wrestling champion Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is a dab hand on the ukulele and it is rumoured that during his next UK tour he’ll possibly will attend our NUGS night on Thursday evenings at The lamplighter Pub from 7:00 pm ish to 10:00 pm ish.
Keep your eyes open, just in case!
I guess finding a space for him on our busy nights might be challenging, however I’m sure we’ll manage!
Here’s a snippet of theNUGS having fun
We played this song on Thursday and it sounded great. With more practice it’ll have The NUGS seal of approval for sure
For the third year running, The NUGS visited 13 wards at the NGH and played a collection of well known Christmas Carols to the delight of patients, staff and visitors.
They started their day at the Market Square in Northampton town where they busked for an hour under cover of the market tents … the people of Northampton were very generous with their donations for Do It For Dementia…we hope to raise around £300!
It’s always great to see new talent, or find them.
Which is what happened during a recent YouTube browse for ukulele songs and groups.
Enjoy Ukebox’s original spin on some well known songs! Expect the unexpected from this eclectic group who take the ukulele to new frontiers.
This ensemble of 5 draws on the flawless tonal qualities of the Ukulele with a completely unique sound of their own. Along with some questionable oddities thrown in for good measure, the mixture of strong harmonies and strapping bass lines prove an aural and visual pleasure of original material not to be missed!
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx

Please meet me at the Billing Road entrance at 1:30pm where I’ll then take you up to Helen’s office to de-bunk our bags and coats. The aim is to be on the first ward by 2:00 pm and to play Christmas Carols for 20 mins per ward.
