Local ukulele teacher pays us a visit

Paul Mansell, a local and very talented Ukulele teacher, paid us a visit on Thursday and joined in with us. Paul has definitely got playing talent and is featured on our favourites page for contacts and resources

Here’s a clip of him playing ‘Something’ by the Beatles

Welcome back Verity

We had a great night again last night and to top it off the co-founder of the NUGS, Verity turned up to add her extra special flavour of singing and humour – she has said she will endeavour to come down more from sunny Leicester, we all hope so!

By the way … she was very pleased to see we have carried on playing and singing more modern music and George Formby had not crept back in! (As if …)

Playlist for Thursday 18th February at The Lamplighter

So it’s back at The Lamplighter 7:00 pm ish to 10:00 pm ish, following our extended season at the Olde Red Lion. It should be a good one with some new faces coming along and an old face making a guest appearance from distant lands (well Leicester actually so no football discussions!)

Song-list for this week will include:

Love of the Common People
Fight Song*
There’s a Guy works down the Chipshop
Ex’s & Oh’s
Blame it on Me
Brand New Day
Psycho Killer
My Life
Shes Kinda Hot
Whiskey in the Jar

Those marked * were set as homework last week by Mr Swift so as we’ve all been practising madly all week (TRUE/FALSE?) they should go really smoothly – believe that you’ll believe anything!!

As ever these are suggestions for the first half – freestyle & off-piste, along with Demons* and Take me to Church* in the second half.

See you Thursday
